Our Mission

About Centralia Youth Sports

Centralia Youth Sports (CYS) is a nonprofit organization founded in 2023 with a vision to strengthen the future of youth athletics in Centralia. We believe every child deserves the opportunity to discover their potential, develop their abilities, experience competition, and be part of something bigger than themselves.

Our mission is to create and support meaningful athletic opportunities for Centralia's youth while building a strong foundation for the future of Centralia School District athletics. Through youth sports programs, competitive opportunities, community partnerships, and fundraising, we are working to create a connected pathway that allows young athletes to grow from their first experience in sports through their high school years.

We believe in development, opportunity, community, and the principle that everything is earned, not given.

Our Vision

Centralia Youth Sports aspires to help build a model youth sports program that begins at the grassroots level and creates opportunities for athletes at every stage of development.

We want to see children introduced to sports at an early age, develop a love for competition, build confidence through hard work, and have opportunities to pursue their highest aspirations. Whether a child is participating for the first time or competing at an advanced level, we believe there should be a place for them to learn, grow, and belong.

Our vision extends beyond individual teams and seasons. We are committed to building a sustainable youth sports foundation that supports the long-term success of Centralia athletics and brings our community together through sports.

What We Do

1. Create and Support Youth Sports Opportunities

We work to provide accessible, organized, and competitive sports opportunities for Centralia's youth. Through program development, equipment, uniforms, facilities, league and tournament participation, and financial support, we help remove barriers and create opportunities for young athletes to participate and improve.

CYS has helped expand competitive basketball opportunities for boys and girls in grades 3–8 and has supported the growth of youth football and cheerleading opportunities through the Centralia Tigers. We believe in developing programs that give young athletes the chance to learn the game, compete, and build the skills needed to advance. As our organization grows, we will continue looking for ways to expand opportunities across additional sports and age groups.

2. Strengthen the Centralia Athletics Pipeline

Successful high school athletic programs are built long before athletes reach high school.

CYS believes in investing in the foundation. By supporting youth development, early participation, skill instruction, and competitive experiences, we help create a stronger connection between youth sports and Centralia School District athletics.

Our partnership with Centralia School District allows us to support the broader athletic experience, including K–12 programs, after-school sports opportunities, equipment, awards, and other needs that help students participate and succeed.

Our goal is to create a connected athletic pathway where young athletes have opportunities to grow, develop, and proudly represent Centralia throughout their school years.

3. Invest in People, Not Just Programs

The impact of youth sports goes far beyond the scoreboard. Sports teach discipline, accountability, teamwork, leadership, resilience, and the value of hard work.

We believe the people who make youth sports possible matter just as much as the programs themselves. Coaches, volunteers, families, educators, and community supporters all play an important role in shaping the experience of young athletes.

CYS is committed to building an environment where children are challenged, encouraged, supported, and given the opportunity to become better athletes and better people.

Our Commitment to the Community

Centralia Youth Sports is built on the belief that a strong youth sports community creates a stronger community overall.

We are committed to working alongside families, coaches, schools, local organizations, and businesses to make athletic opportunities available to more children. Fundraising and community support allow us to invest directly back into programs, equipment, participation opportunities, and the resources young athletes need to succeed.

Every contribution helps create opportunities that reach beyond one team or one season. It helps build a foundation for the next generation of Centralia athletes.

Be Part of the Mission

Centralia Youth Sports welcomes individuals, families, organizations, and local businesses who believe in the value of youth athletics and want to help make a lasting difference.

Whether through volunteering, coaching, fundraising, sponsorship, or financial support, there is a place for everyone who wants to invest in the future of Centralia youth sports.

Together, we can create more opportunities, strengthen our athletic programs, and build something that will benefit generations of Centralia athletes.

Our goal is bigger than any one sport, team, or season. We are changing the landscape of youth sports in Centralia.

CENTRALIA YOUTH SPORTS — EARNED, NOT GIVEN.
